Yarra Valley Dairy

Food branding and recipe photography captured for Yarra Valley Dairy and sister Brand Yarra Valley Cheese.

Located in Yering, in the Yarra Valley, a region renowned for fantastic wine and food producers. Yarra valley dairy produce a range or artisan cheeses and are probably most well known for their delicious marinated version feta which is distributed worldwide.

I have worked on several shoots with YVD to capture delicious recipes incorporating their cheeses. The resulting images are used on their websites as well as recipe cards that are presented in the Dairy’s shop where visitors can sample and purchase the cheese. Some of these recipes include roast pumpkin topped with chilli marinated feta cheese and delicious roast lamb stuffed with Persian feta cheese.

In addition to the recipe shoots I’ve also captured a range of images of Yarra Valley Dairy’s cheese products and lifestyle product shots that are used for their branding and marketing campaigns.

In each shoot it was important to capture the unique qualities of the cheeses as well as convey that they are a premium artisanal product. We achieved this though creating aspirational editorial style images which would entice consumers to take a closer look. We worked closely with a food stylist and recipe developer to select the ideal props and backgrounds to create a story around the recipes and products. I carefully selected the ideal camera angles and lighting to highlight the features of the cheese, as well as to create a premium feel consistent with YVD’s branding.
